Bourn Hall Clinic was founded in 1980 as the world’s first IVF clinic, making it the first biotech company in the Cambridge area. Building on the pioneering work of Patrick Steptoe and Bob Edwards and the strong clinical research ethos they created, LCG Bioscience was founded in 1993. This new force in contract clinical research was quickly recognised for its innovative approach and delivery of high quality data. Attracting considerable inward investment from the biotech/pharma industry the facilities and services continued to grow rapidly. LCG teams have been integrated into product development projects throughout the drug development process from discovery to marketing.
Now this wealth of vision spanning all stages of product development is available to all our clients and focussed on early clinical development. This includes experience with early proof of biological activity, which can substantially reduce the risk of Phase II, offers innovation in the design of later phase development, reduces costs and can substantially reduce patient numbers.
