Endocrinology
The assessment of endocrine endpoints in a clinical study can be particularly challenging when endogenous hormones are present to interfere with the study assessments. We have developed several models in volunteers and patients which allow endogenous hormones to be manipulated, or eliminated, in order to establish a clear baseline from which to study a new product.
Our integrated laboratories have an extensive panel of endocrine endpoints that have been established and validated for assessment of endocrine effects. We have studied a number of endocrine indications in recent years including:
- Diabetes
- Cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism
- Hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal axis function
- Growth hormone deficiency / acromegaly
- Reproductive system disorders
- Obesity
